European Seek New Trade Routes
Europeans wanted to find new trade routes because when they received goods from China/Asia , the goods were taxed. The taxes were very expensive. Since the taxes were so expensive, the Europeans wanted to go to Asia themselves so they can get the goods before the goods were sold to them.
"FOR GOD, GLORY, AND GOLD"
This quote sums up the motives for the European explores. These conquest that took place allowed various European countries to have a chance at power. Gold refers to all the materials that could be gained during their conquest. What they gained will be sold and traded. What acquired ranged from Asian spices, African slaves, and American Medals.
Pizarro's Trade Routes
Francisco Pizarro was born in the year 1474 in Trujillo, Spain. Spain was the country that funded his trip. He went to Peru in 1526 and then he went back to Spain to get permission to claim Peru in the name of Spain. Pizarro is known for his voyages to Peru. While he was in Peru, he took over many Incan cities. This led to Spain owning much of Peru. In 1531 he went back and took the Incan leader, Atahuapla hostage and even though the ransom was paid, Pizarro still had his men kill Atahuapla. In 1537, Pizarro had conflict Almagro. At the time Pizarro and Almargro were in Peru. Pizarro was too old to fight himself so he sent his half-brothers to go and kill Almargro and they did just that. But in June of 1541, one of Almargro's followers assassinated Fransico Pizarro.
